Those Lost Nights

There are nights like tonight;
When I feel lost,
Amidst everything around, me;
Filled with fear of what is to come;
Trying to summon the energy to keep going;

On nights like this;
Nothing matters,
Purpose is shelved;
Ambition is put away;
And everything we love is approached with indifference.
