Grief And Grieving

Grief and grieving changes you;
It scours bits of you that you hold personal;
And makes a home out of it;
It has you on chokehold;
And threatens the end of all that you hold dear and sacred;

But I guess;
We have to figure out a way;
We have to take it all one day at a time;
Understand that it was her time;
And she lived a full life;

It pains,
And I don’t think it will ever stop paining;
But we somehow learn to live with this pain;
And parts of me really hope that in time;
This pain will be filled with nothing but beautiful memories of her being.
