Addiction

Until you’ve had your first hit,
You’ll never understand what addiction is;
Until you start having cravings,
You’ll never know what it feels like to be addicted;
Until you lose control,
You’ll never understand that being trapped is not a choice;

My drug of choice was you in the summer,
And “lights” in the winter;
The nicotine rush and your tender touch,
Had me losing control.
